It was a good run, but the Ferndale Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Dexter 44-38. While losing is never fun, Ferndale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Dexter is ranked third).
Despite the loss, Ferndale had strong showings from Aaliyah Frost, who scored nine points along with five rebounds, and Iyanna Davis, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds. Davis also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyanna McGarrell, who scored four points.
Ferndale's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Dexter, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ferndale will be home for the holidays to greet Dakota at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Dexter will be home for the holidays to greet South Lyon East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
