NICO CHAVEZ put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in March on Wednesday. He struck out five batters over four innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Bonita Vista is 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-12 otherwise.

CHAVEZ's strong effort led Bonita Vista over San Ysidro and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
