The Meadowcreek Mustangs fell victim to the Norcross Blue Devils''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Blue Devils, falling 48-0. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, Meadowcreek couldn't push the score so high this time.
Danirion Moxey rushed for 42 yards. Jamir Imuzai was his top target, gaining 70 total yards.
Among those leading the charge was Arrington (aj) Watkins, who rushed for 144 yards. Watkins' longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards.
Meadowcreek's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-3 North Gwinnett (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62.5% over those games). As for Norcross, the win was the sixth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Meadowcreek will head out on the road to face off against Duluth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Norcross, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Peachtree Ridge at 7:30 p.m. Peachtree Ridge is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
