Otsego took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Evergreen, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vikings on Tuesday, sneaking past 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Trevor Brooks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits.
At the plate, Lincoln Ferdig was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Shanahan, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Otsego's record is now 7-4. As for Evergreen, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Looking ahead, Otsego will be playing in front of their home fans against Maumee at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Evergreen, they will head out to challenge Archbold at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
