Wayne is a perfect 5-0 against Twin River since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will head out to take on the Titans at 4:30 p.m. Wayne is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Wayne and South Sioux City, and Wayne kept the tradition alive. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 13-0 win on Monday. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Brodrick Tiedtke tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Wayne got a big performance out of Jaxson Kneifl, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Easton Endicott was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Wayne hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Sioux City struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Twin River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-4 to Fairbury.
Brayden Santos made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Chuck Davenport also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Twin River's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Wayne, their record is now 11-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wayne has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Twin River struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Wayne got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Twin River by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
