After a string of eight wins, Screven County's good fortune finally ran out  on Friday. While the  1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Claxton Tigers who were credited with the  win. The Claxton Tigers got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Screven County Gamecocks' two. Having soared to a lofty ten  goals in the game before, Screven County couldn't push the score so high this time.
Their goal came courtesy  of  Charley Brannen, who's now up to four this season.
Screven County's  loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 10-2. As for Claxton, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record  this season.
 We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Screven County will  challenge  rival Portal  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Claxton is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Metter  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
