River Ridge put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Countryside Cougars, posting a 30-3 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Royal Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Cougars are ranked 371st).

River Ridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nicholas Cavazza out in front who threw for 223 yards and one touchdown while completing 93.3% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Cavazza a new career-high in passer rating (154.2). Jonah Clouse was in the mix too, providing River Ridge with two TDs.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something River Ridge proved: they limited Countryside to a paltry 1.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Nicolas Rauckhorst for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for River Ridge; they were averaging 3.7yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three matchups they've fallen to only 4 per game.

River Ridge's defense didn't let Cam Waddington., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for 4.5 sacks. Countryside's QB won't forget Jackson Reed anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Those three sacks set a new season-high mark for Reed. Rauckhorst was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble, making seven total tackles, and defending two passes.

River Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Countryside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, River Ridge will square off against Mitchell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Countryside, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gulf at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
