The Kimball Cubs pushed their score all the way to 70 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 79-70 to Upsala. While losing is never fun, Kimball can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Cardinals are ranked 151st).
Noah Boeckermann was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds for Upsala. Boeckermann continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Primus, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Kimball's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Upsala, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kimball will take on the Royals at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Royalton is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Upsala, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on February 1st. Browerville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully the Cardinals likes a good challenge.
