Mid-Lakes recap October 8, 2013
Ash Grove's Logan Allred recorded the longest rushing play in Mid-Lakes this season in his game against Skyline last week. Allred's team beat the Tigers as he sprinted for 96 yards on the play and finished with 315 in all.
Ash Grove scaled the state rankings by moving to 98 from 133 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Doug Martin's team climbed the ranks as a result of besting Skyline 49-28.
Allred was a force in the backfield as the Pirates bested Brandon Shelby's team.
Zack Stow was a key player and the best on defense this week as Strafford beat Fair Grove. The 5-foot-10 junior racked up 1 sack.
Jacob Wade threw for 241 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was 11-17 with 0 interceptions.
Allred was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 315 yards on 22 carries as Ash Grove bested the Eagles. Taylor Mooneyham also contributed to the rushing game with 79 yards on the ground.
Leading Mid-Lakes in both passing and receiving yards, Strafford's Wade and Hester have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-4 quarterback Wade has thrown for 1,347 yards this season, while Hester has 34 catches for 635 yards. The Pirates' Allred leads the league in rushing yards with 1,262.
The Tigers are currently in third, while Tim Hester's team is in first.
The Indians extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Fair Grove, 62-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
