The Higley Knights fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Desert Mountain Wolves on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 90-83 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Thursday (56), Higley still had to take the loss.
Higley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Noah Gloor, who scored 34 points along with nine assists and eight rebounds, and Donovan Dabney who scored 24 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Prince Ngala, who scored six points.
Higley has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Desert Mountain, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Higley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mountain Pointe at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. One thing working in Mountain Pointe's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. Desert Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Chaparral has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-0 during that stretch of close contests.
