The First Baptist Academy Lions struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Evangelical Christian Sentinels had 700% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. First Baptist Academy had to suffer through a rough 68-35 loss at the hands of Evangelical Christian. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for First Baptist Academy in their matchups with Evangelical Christian: they've now lost four in a row.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zara Leilani Stewart, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ella Johnson, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds.
Maddie O'berski was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds for Evangelical Christian. O'berski hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellisia Grant, who scored 12 points.
First Baptist Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Evangelical Christian, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
First Baptist Academy will be playing at home against Neumann at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neumann will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Evangelical Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Venice at 4:30 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Venice focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday.
