7A District 8 recap November 5, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to East Bay, who took down 192nd ranked Durant, 10-7. Chris Greene ran for 100 yards in the win.
Plant City took down Brandon 26-3 last week, the largest margin of any game. Sterling Day ran for 110 yards during the win.
The Raiders' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Landon Galloway threw for 136 yards and Rayquan Johnson had 57 yards receiving. On the ground Day contributed 110 yards. Sawyer Dawson helped Plant City's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 41 yards.
Day was the most successful running back in 7A District 8 this week. Teammate Galloway added to the ground attack by rushing for 57 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Galloway of Plant City is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,368. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Josh Hyde. The Strawberry Crest star has 35 catches for 481 yards.
The Indians made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,082 from 3,513. The improvement was the result of a 10-7 victory over the Cougars last week.
