Softball Recap: Maple Shade Wins Going Away Against Riverside

Maple Shade won the last time they faced Riverside and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats blew past the Rams 11-3. Considering the Wildcats have won five games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Isabella Adams and Madeline Sylvia did most of the damage at the plate: Adams scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5, while Sylvia scored two runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-5. Adams also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Haylee Gaidecksi, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Maple Shade kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Maple Shade and bumps their season record up to 6-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Riverside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maple Shade will take on Burlington City at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Riverside, they will face off against Pennsauken Tech at 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
