Meanwhile, Regis Jesuit is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Collierville. The Raiders had just enough and edged out the Dragons 2-1.
Michael Kroll spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
At the plate, Regis Jesuit's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chase Massey, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Regis Jesuit's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Mountain Vista, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mountain Vista has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Regis Jesuit struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Mountain Vista couldn't quite finish off Regis Jesuit when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Will the Golden Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
