Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Madison's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Madison's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past the Mira Mesa Marauders with points to spare, taking the game 76-62. The Warhawks pushed the score to 60-34 by the end of the third, a deficit the Marauders cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Madison to victory, but perhaps none more so than Runnar(Rj) Miller, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 boards. That's the most points Miller has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorge Luque, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

Madison has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Mira Mesa, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-4.

Madison and Mira Mesa should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Madison will square off against Coronado at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday up 413 places (204 vs. 617). Madison is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Mira Mesa (ranked 119th) will meet La Jolla (ranked 415th) at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Madison will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
