Tucson High Magnet School and Cienega are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Badgers will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Monday, Tucson High Magnet School got the win against Rincon/University by a conclusive 17-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Badgers.

Evannie Flores tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
At the plate, Tucson High Magnet School got a massive performance out of Alyssa Torres, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Torres has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Claudeona Lesley, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4.
Tucson High Magnet School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Cienega entered their tilt with Nogales on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on the Apaches with a sharp 16-1 win.
The team relied heavily on Micaela Valenzuela, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Butt, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Cienega pushed their record up to 20-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Tucson High Magnet School, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8.
Both Tucson High Magnet School and Cienega just can't seem to miss. The Badgers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Cienega struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
