Dakota Ridge walked away with a 56-48 victory over Golden on Wednesday. That's another feather in the cap for Dakota Ridge, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Ethan Berninger continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds. The contest was his 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alijah Sawyer, who scored nine points.
Golden lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alex Erger, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shad Garnett, who scored seven points.
Even though they lost, Golden were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dakota Ridge only racked up nine assists.
Dakota Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Golden, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
Dakota Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Conifer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Conifer will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Dakota Ridge is ranked 50th). As for Golden, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Littleton at 7:30 p.m.
