Even though the First Baptist Crusaders have not done well against Rochester Area HomeSchool recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. First Baptist managed a 39-35 victory over Rochester Area HomeSchool. The squad ran away with 28 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.
First Baptist found their leader in underclassman Lydia Wynja, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Wynja has scored at least 25% of First Baptist's points. Emma Wynja was another key contributor, scoring 2 points along with 11 rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for First Baptist and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Rochester Area HomeSchool, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
First Baptist has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Prior Lake Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Rochester Area HomeSchool will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chisago Lakes Baptist at 5:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
