The Castilleja Gators will face off against the Design Tech Dragons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Castilleja has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Castilleja came up short against Half Moon Bay on Monday, falling 13-7. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Design Tech made easy work of El Camino on Tuesday and carried off a 19-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won three in a row.
Adelaide Chuang made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Chuang was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Ella Lewis and Kendall Hom did most of the damage at the plate: Lewis went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Hom went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits Lewis has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Sarah Todd, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Design Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .811. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Camino only posted an OBP of .312.
Design Tech now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Castilleja, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Castilleja might still be hurting after the 15-2 defeat they got from Design Tech in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Can the Gators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
