At the plate, Michael Marley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Rodriquez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Boca Ciega suffered their closest loss since April 22, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Lakewood by a score of 8-6. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Jacob Thompson put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Yirvin Medina Suarez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Elliot Doughty was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Boca Ciega's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Northeast, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8.
