Parkland and Mount Tabor are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2021, but not for long. The Parkland Mustangs will face off against the Mount Tabor Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Parkland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season.
Parkland was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Glenn on Friday. Parkland took their contest with ease, bagging a 76-28 victory over Glenn. With the Mustangs ahead 38-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Parkland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kimora Brooks led the charge by dropping a double-double with 19 points and 15 boards. Those 15 rebounds gave Brooks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Azari Wilkins, who went 9-for-13 en route to 22 points and three steals.
Meanwhile, Mount Tabor entered their tilt with West Forsyth on Friday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 55-51 W against the Titans. The score was all tied up 25-25 at the break, but the Spartans were the better team in the second half.
Parkland better keep an eye on Shaymiah Bailey. She was instrumental in Mount Tabor's win, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 15 boards. Bailey's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Brooke Cilento, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.
Mount Tabor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.
Parkland is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points over those games. As for Mount Tabor, their record is now 9-14.
Keep an eye on the arc in Monday's match: Parkland has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 35.6% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Mount Tabor, though, as they've only made 23.8% of their three-pointers this season. Given Parkland's sizable advantage in that area, Mount Tabor will need to find a way to close that gap.
