The Marin Catholic Wildcats had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on Mayfair with a sharp 38-18 win on Saturday. Marin Catholic might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 12 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marin Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peter Macaulay, who threw for 328 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.7 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. That's the first time this season that Macaulay passed for 300 or more yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles Williams, who gained 187 total yards and two touchdowns.
Marin Catholic's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Mario Crocitto.
The victory (which was Marin Catholic's fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-1. As for Mayfair, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.
Marin Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mayfair also has no future games currently scheduled.
