Blue Springs (Mo.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 22-7 win over
Rockhurst (Kansas City, Mo.).
The Wildcats scored three points in the first quarter. Blue Springs scored on a field goal by
Darron "Blane" Howell.
After taking the lead on a field goal by Howell in the first quarter, BS was up 16-7 at the half.
The Wildcats expanded their lead to 15 points entering the fourth quarter. Blue Springs scored once in the quarter on a touchdown pass by
Ian Brown to
Darrius Shepherd.
Rockhurst's lone touchdown came on a 7-yard run by
A.j. Taylor in the second quarter.
BS got revenge for last year's 35-20 loss to the Hawklets with the victory.
The loss was the third in a row for Rockhurst. With the win the Wildcats extended their winning streak to three games.
Blue Springs (3-0) will play a non-conference game against Lee's Summit West next week, while Rockhurst (0-3) will take on Hutchinson also in a non-conference game.
