The Indian Creek Braves will venture away from home to square off against the South Putnam Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Indian Creek lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Greencastle, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's contest. The Braves blew past the Tiger Cubs 12-4 on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Braves needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Delaney Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Jones was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

In other batting news, Indian Creek got a massive performance out of Ella Schaub, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Schaub a new career-high. Addie Schaub was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Indian Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, South Putnam came tearing into Wednesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Brown County with a sharp 12-2 win.
Like Indian Creek, South Putnam also got a great game from a two-way player: Alyssa Pingleton. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Pingleton has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Elliana Cox was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lilah Holderfield, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Indian Creek is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for South Putnam, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Indian Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like South Putnam struggles in that department as they've averaged .412. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Indian Creek beat South Putnam 4-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Braves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
