After losing to the Roncalli Catholic Crimson Pride the last time they met, the Blair Bears decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Blair came out on top against Roncalli Catholic by a score of 65-52 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Blair.
Blair's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taytum Macholan led the charge by scoring 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Macholan has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Addie Sullivan, who scored 17 points.
When it comes to explaining why Roncalli Catholic lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alice Cunningham. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. It was the first time this season that Cunningham scored 15 or more points. Jordyn Rohlfsen was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Blair's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Roncalli Catholic, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.
Blair will head out on the road to square off against Norris at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Blair has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Roncalli Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
