If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for River Ridge. On Friday they take on Highline at 7:00 PM. River Ridge will be hoping to build upon the 48-7 win they picked up against Highline the last time they played.
River Ridge were the first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their contest against Steilacoom last week. River Ridge took a 31-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Steilacoom. River Ridge's defeat came about despite a quality game from senior Tomasi Manu, who rushed for 99 yards and 3 touchdowns. One of the most memorable plays of the game was Manu's 70-yard touchdown rush in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, Highline found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 7-31 punch to the gut against Orting. Highline were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-21.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a loss, both will be hungry for the win. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
