On Wednesday, Leadership Academy took a serious blow against Southwestern Randolph, falling 66-25. Leadership Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-12.
When it comes to explaining why Leadership Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ali Faenza. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points. Addy Guldberg was another key contributor, scoring two points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Leadership Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-2. As for Southwestern Randolph, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Leadership Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Asheboro at 1:00 p.m. on December 28th. Asheboro will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 498th, while Leadership Academy is ranked 224th). Southwestern Randolph won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Providence Grove at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th.
