Waverly faced Norris in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings had just enough and edged out the Titans 6-4. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Brady Schieffer looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in 12 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Waverly saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Gunderson, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Waverly's record is now 20-7. As for Norris, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-9.
