After flying high against the Grand Meadow Superlarks last Thursday, the LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals came back down to earth. LeRoy-Ostrander fell 64-52 to Houston on Friday. LeRoy-Ostrander was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Houston apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Camden Hungerholt and Reid Hungerholt certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Hungerholt scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks, while Hungerholt scored 20 points along with two steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Hungerholt posted two or more blocks.
LeRoy-Ostrander struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
It was another big night for Morgan Rohweder, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds for Houston. Another player making a difference was Carter Geiwitz, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
LeRoy-Ostrander has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Houston, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. LeRoy-Ostrander and Lanesboro will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lanesboro is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Houston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kingsland at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Kingsland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
