Woodcreek has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Bella Vista Broncos at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Woodcreek is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Broncos in California (the Timberwolves are ranked 103rd, while the Broncos are ranked 544th).
Last Tuesday, Woodcreek came up short against the Tigers and fell 62-53. Woodcreek has not had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
The losing side was boosted by Tyler Hennessey, who scored 18 points. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Will Dennie, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, even though Antelope scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, Bella Vista still came out on top. Bella Vista came out on top in a nail-biter against the Titans and snuck past 63-60.
Damian Rickett continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 5-for-10 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 41 points and 15 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikey Simonyan, who scored 14 points.
Woodcreek's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-6. As for Bella Vista, their victory bumped their record up to 10-14.
Thursday's match is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Woodcreek have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 40.9% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Bella Vista struggles in that department as they've made 40.3% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Woodcreek took their win against the Broncos in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 56-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodcreek since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
