Owasso and Bixby squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Owasso had to settle for second. They and the Bixby Spartans were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 43-42 loss. The Rams' defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Owasso lost, don't look at Jayden Hall. Despite the final result, he rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave Hall a new career-high in rushing yards.

Hall was just one part of a punishing run game: Owasso was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 346 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 155 rushing yards in 16 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bixby to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Kirby, who threw for 242 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Cooper Parker, who rushed for 74 yards and three touchdowns.

Having lost for the first time this season, Owasso fell to 12-1. As for Bixby, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

As of now, neither Owasso nor Bixby have any future games scheduled.
