Owen won against Madison on Thursday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Warhorses blew past the Mitchell Mountaineers 13-3. Considering the Warhorses have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Kylie Gurecky made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 6.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Savannah Hollingsworth was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Payten Brockman, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Owen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .475. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mitchell only posted a batting average of .240.
Owen has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Mitchell, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
