The Escondido Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 39-32 to Rock Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Escondido has scored all season.
It was another big night for David Whitley, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds for Rock Academy. The game was Whitley's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Whitley, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Escondido's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Rock Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-3.
Escondido will head out on the road to face off against Kearny at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rock Academy, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Del Lago Academy at 6:30 p.m. on December 7th.
