Bethune-Bowman took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Palmetto Scholars Academy, who comes in off a win.
Palmetto Scholars Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Cross last Friday as they made off with a 22-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Phoenix in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won three in a row.

Katelyn King was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Palmetto Scholars Academy got a massive performance out of Lexi Lubbehusen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Lubbehusen is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Kate McElfresh was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Palmetto Scholars Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .870. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Bethune-Bowman unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Charleston Math & Science back in March, falling 14-0.
Palmetto Scholars Academy's record is now 6-4-1. As for Bethune-Bowman, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Everything went Palmetto Scholars Academy's way against Bethune-Bowman in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Palmetto Scholars Academy made off with a 15-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Phoenix since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
