Basketball Recap: Seymour Comes Up Short

Seymour came up into this matchup off a tough 21-point defeat last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Watertown Indians by a score of 58-55 on Monday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Seymour still got an impressive performance from Joey Carrafiello, who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine boards. Carrafiello's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Robby Carrafiello was another key player, putting up eight points along with ten assists and six boards.

Watertown was led to victory by Christopher O'Toole and Johnathan Platt. O'Toole posted 16 points, while Platt put up 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dean LeMay, who had eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Seymour and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Watertown, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Seymour didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 73-44 win against Oxford on the 4th. As for Watertown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-42 victory against Ansonia on the 2nd.
