The Harrison Panthers pushed their score all the way to 55 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a rough 75-55 loss at the hands of Mesa Ridge. Harrison has not had much luck with Mesa Ridge recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Harrison lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kenneth Jones jr, who scored 24 points along with three blocks. That was a full 43.6% of Harrison's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jeilo Hamenyimana, who scored 16 points.
Mesa Ridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tevin Riehl out in front who scored 17 points along with six assists and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Riehl, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Harrison's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Mesa Ridge, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
Harrison will head out on the road to challenge Canon City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harrison is facing Canon City at the right time seeing as Canon City is stuck on a eight-game losing streak. As for Mesa Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Pueblo Central at 7:00 p.m. Mesa Ridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,372 points over their last 20 matches.
