5A Region III District 24 recap October 22, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Dickinson, who took down 213th ranked Clear Brook, 37-19.
The Gators scaled the state rankings by moving to 221 from 304 this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region III District 24. Dickinson climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Wolverines 37-19.
Zach Cripps threw for 301 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 17-30 with 1 interception.
Devin Milburn was the best wideout in the league this week as Clear Springs topped Clear Lake. Milburn racked up 8 receptions for 167 yards. Jacob Gallardo helped Clear Springs' passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 89 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Cripps and Matt Guidry, the Chargers have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Cripps is tops in the league in passing with 1,325 yards, while Guidry has rushed for 867 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Clear Falls's John Humphrey, with 627 yards on 55 catches.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Clear Springs and the Knights face off next week.
An important game coming up in 5A Region III District 24 this week will be when Frank Maldonado's team takes on Clear Falls. At the moment, the Chargers are in second, while Mike Zierlein's team is in third.
Clear Springs took down the Falcons 41-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Cripps during the win.
