North Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Frankfort Hot Dogs. One positive for the Spartans, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Frankfort to victory, but perhaps none more so than Charlie Beardsley, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 16 points. The dominant performance gave Beardsley a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Waggoner, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points.

North Newton's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Frankfort, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-8.

North Newton will look to defend their home court on January 10th against West Central at 7:00 p.m. Frankfort has already played their next game, a 61-54 defeat against Pioneer on the 2nd.
