Junction let Brock Bierschwale and Hunter Dale run wild. Bierschwale went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one triple, while Dale went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those five stolen bases gave Bierschwale a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Casen Roberts, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Junction kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.
Harper hit San Saba with a seven-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Armadillos lost 11-2 to the Longhorns. The Armadillos haven't had much luck with the Longhorns recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
San Saba saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Monreal, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
San Saba's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Junction, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
San Saba's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Junction hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .438. It's a different story for San Saba, though, as they've only averaged .206. Will they be able to contain Junction's hitters?
Junction got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against San Saba by a conclusive 16-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
