After a string of 12 wins, the Cadillac Vikings's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Whitehall by a score of 58-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Cadillac has suffered yet this season.
Camden Thompson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds for Whitehall. Thompson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Jamison, who scored eight points along with two steals and two blocks.
Cadillac's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-1. As for Whitehall, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Cadillac will be playing in front of their home fans against Fordson at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fordson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Cadillac is ranked 16th). As for Whitehall, they will head out on the road to challenge Newaygo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Newaygo has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 253 points over their last four contests.
