It was a good run, but the Hershey Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ogallala. Hershey was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ogallala apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Payton Jones and Emma Hall certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Jones scored 20 points along with three steals, while Hall dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Hall pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenna Bringewatt, who scored three points along with eight rebounds.
Hershey's loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2. As for Ogallala, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hershey and Broken Bow will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Broken Bow will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Ogallala and Northwest will face off on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Northwest knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Ogallala likes a good challenge.
