Baseball Recap: Evergreen Sets Scoring Season-High Against Bryan

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Evergreen). They put the hurt on the Bryan Golden Bears with a sharp 17-4 win on Thursday. The Vikings have beaten the Golden Bears the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Golden Bears has come to flipping the script.

Blake Boucher was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). JJ Johnson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Evergreen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Evergreen now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Bryan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Evergreen will face off against Northview at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bryan, they will head out to face off against Otsego at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
