Woodinville is 10-0 against Redmond since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Woodinville Falcons will look to defend their home court against the Redmond Mustangs at 6:50 p.m. The timing is sure in Woodinville's favor as the squad sits on 19 straight wins at home while Redmond has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Woodinville put the finishing touches on their 13th blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 58-27 win over Inglemoor at home. Given Woodinville's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while Inglemoor is ranked 101st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Redmond proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 27) but on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-59 win over Juanita. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Redmond to victory, but perhaps none more so than Iha Kasam, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Kasam has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sofia Locati, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Woodinville's victory bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Redmond, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.
Everything came up roses for Woodinville against Redmond when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 93-36 win. Does Woodinville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Redmond turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
