The Botkins Trojans will venture away from home to square off against the Lehman Catholic Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, Botkins beat Ansonia 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.
Botkins walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The final score came out to 25-16, 23-25, 25-23, 25-12.

Botkins can attribute much of their success to Kambree Walters, who had 19 digs and one assist, and Brynnan Paul, who had 17 digs. Walters has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 12 times she's played. Aspen Brown also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Lehman Catholic not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 16th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Northridge.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Lehman Catholic took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-13, 25-10.
Botkins better focus on containing Lilly Graham and Avery Wyan as the pair were huge in Lehman Catholic's win. Graham had 13 digs and three assists, while Wyan had five digs and one assist.
Lehman Catholic was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive contests.
Botkins' record now sits at 10-12. As for Lehman Catholic, their record is now 10-11.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Wednesday's match: Botkins has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Lehman Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Botkins suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Lehman Catholic in their previous matchup back in October of 2018. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
