Softball Recap: Salem Academy Has No Trouble Against St. Paul

Salem Academy got themselves on the board against St. Paul on Wednesday, but St. Paul never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Buckaroos with a sharp 11-0 victory. Considering the Crusaders have won five contests by more than ten runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Salem Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for St. Paul, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem Academy will take on Western Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders are facing the Pioneers at the right time seeing as the Pioneers are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for St. Paul, they will square off against Colton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.8 runs per game on average), something the Buckaroos will no doubt try to take advantage of.
