The Kings Christian Crusaders waltzed into their contest on Saturday with 17 straight wins but they left with 18. They managed a 47-41 victory over Strathmore. This was payback for Kings Christian, who suffered a 39-36 loss the last time these two teams met.
Leading Kings Christian to victory were Trey Brouwer and Ronnie Roche. Brouwer scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks, while Roche scored 23 points. Brouwer has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 18 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Deonte Reynolds, who scored five points along with three steals.
Kings Christian's victory bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Strathmore, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Kings Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Wonderful College Prep Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Wonderful College Prep Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1394th, while Kings Christian is ranked 671st). Strathmore's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lindsay at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Lindsay and Strathmore are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
