Marshall scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 71-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sylmar Spartans. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sylmar found their leader in sophomore Andrew Galvez, who went 14 for 24 on his way to 36 points in addition to five boards and three steals. With that strong performance, Galvez is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jimmy Montemayor, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points and three steals.

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Sylmar, with the win, they broke their ten-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-9.

Marshall will welcome Rosemead at 6:30 p.m. on January 8th. As for Sylmar, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 84-63 loss against Franklin on the 2nd.
