5A High Country Top Player Performances of the Week

Onix Carson Goes Supernova in Vallivue Victory
 Starting off the list is Vallivue's  Onix Carson, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Carson rushed for 247 yards while picking up 11.2 yards per carry. That's the most  rushing yards  he has posted since back in October of 2023.
 The  win (which was Vallivue's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Carson and Vallivue will head out on the road to  challenge  Bishop Kelly  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.

A Season-Best  Effort from  Lincoln Thayn Leads Emmett over Columbia
  Lincoln Thayn produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Emmett to the win  on Friday. Thayn rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown.
 Emmett pushed their record up to 5-2 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  at home dating back to last season. Thayn and Emmett will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Nampa at 7:00  p.m.  on October 18th.

Emmett Gets a Boost from Scheibe in  35-14  Victory
 Another Emmett player making an appearance on this list is  Ryder Scheibe. He rushed for 106 yards on only 12 carries, and also threw for 73 yards and two touchdowns.
 For the season,  Scheibe  has thrown 12 touchdowns while averaging 122.4 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season,  he had seven  passing touchdowns.

 Columbia was sadly handed a  defeat on Friday, but  Owen Ovanek did his best to prevent it. Despite the   loss,  Ovanek was still balling out as he picked up 74 receiving yards and a touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D,  making seven total tackles and defending a pass.
 Columbia has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost three of their last four games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record  this season. Ovanek and Columbia will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Skyview  at 7:00  p.m.

Eli Hamilton Delivers Best  Performance of Season
  Eli Hamilton produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Bonneville to the win  on Friday. Hamilton threw for 291 yards and two touchdowns.
 On the season,  Hamilton  has thrown 5 touchdowns while averaging 106.8 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season,  he had one  passing touchdown.
