Independence strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Field Kindley Golden Tornado. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Independence's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Field Kindley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Independence will be playing in front of their home fans against Baxter Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last five games the Lions have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Field Kindley will be paying especially close attention to Independence's contest: after Independence faces off against Baxter Springs, they'll take on Field Kindley again at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
