Valor Preparatory Academy snuck past Queen's Grant with a 72-67 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Valor Preparatory Academy.
Bishop Witherspoon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 37 points. Witherspoon is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. DaCaree McCain was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Queen's Grant's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenston Richardson, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Richardson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kris Honeycutt, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Valor Preparatory Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Queen's Grant, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-11.
Valor Preparatory Academy will be playing at home against Piedmont Community Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Piedmont Community Charter's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 matches. As for Queen's Grant, they will head out on the road to face off against Sugar Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sugar Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matches -- so hopefully Queen's Grant likes a good challenge.
